Gino Carolloジーノ・カローロ

ジーノ・カローロは、イタリア北東のヴィチェンツァに生まれる。1990年に工業デザインの分野で活動を開始し、アート・ディレクターとして、イタリア及び海外大手家具メーカーと協業する。
アサレド家具協会の依頼から、ドイツ・ケルン「国際家具見本市（1992・1993）」、オーストリア・ウィーン「インテリア見本市（1992）」にて「イタリア・パビリオン」の全体イメージ企画・実現に携わる。
その後もイタリア「ディラッタン博覧会（1993）」や、「アビターレ・イル・テンポ（1994）」にて「プロジェッティ・エ・テリトリ（地域プロジェクト）」として活躍する。同年、ケルン「デュポン賞」、ミラノ「ヤング・デザイン賞」、ローマ「カーサ・イデア賞」を受賞し、ニューヨーク近代美術館（MoMA）にてその作品が展示される。
2012年には、ドイツ・インターリュプケ社の「ブックレス」のデザインにより、インテリア・イノベーション賞（iMM ケルン）を受賞する。
1999年には、家具分野への専門的支援を行うことを目的に、「スタジオ28ジーノ・カローロ」を設立する。長年に渡る、原型モデルを実現する商品デザインの設計に取り組む事で、スタジオの成果を上げ、パートナー企業との長期的な協力関係を確立する。ここ数年、新たな専門分野を加え、スタジオ28のインダストリアルデザイン活動分野は拡大し、展示スペース、ショールーム、CI(コーポレートアイデンティティ)の設計の分野にまで及んでいる。

Gino Carollo was born in Vicenza and began in 1990 his activity in the industrial design sector, also collaborating as an Art Director with prestigious Italian and International enterprises in the furniture branch.
By commission of Assarredo, he planned the realization and the coordinated image for the Pavilion Italy at the International Furniture Fair in Cologne in 1992 and 1993, as well as the Italian Pavilion at the Interior Fair in Vienna in 1992.
He participated to the Dirattan Exposition in Milan in 1993 and to the exposition ""Progetti e Territori"" at the Fair ""Abitare il Tempo"" in Verona in 1994. In the same years, he is awarded the “Du Pont” prize in Cologne, the “Young Design” prize in Milan and the “Casaidea” prize in Rome, and some of his products are exposed at the MoMA in New York.
In 2012 he receives the Interior Innovation Award in Cologne for the product “Bookless” of Interlübke.
In 1999 he opened STUDIO28 GINO CAROLLO, with the objective of establishing a qualified support team to the companies in the furniture branch. The design of products connected to the engineering and realization of models and prototypes revealed themselves over the years as the main tools which let the studio acquire important results and establish long-term collaborations. The industrial design activity of Studio 28 was developed and expanded in the last years to include novel sectors of expertise, in particular covering the field of architectural planning of exposition spaces, showrooms and corporate identity.
