JASPER MORRISONジャスパー・モリソン
1959年イギリス･ロンドン生まれ。85年ロンドン・ロイヤルカレッジ・オブ・アート（RCA）卒業。86年に「オフィス・フォー・デザイン」を設立した。ロンドンとパリを拠点にグローバルに活動し、アレッシィやフロス、ローゼンタール、ヴィトラ社など、ヨーロッパやアジアのメーカーのデザインを手掛け、今、最も影響力のあるデザイナーの1人と言われる。
Jasper Morrison was born in London in 1959, and graduated in Design at Kingston Polytechnic Design School, London (1979-82 BA (Des.)) and The Royal College of Art for Postgraduate studies (1982-85 MA (Des.) RCA). In 1986 he set up an Office for Design in London.
Today Jasper Morrison Ltd. consists of three design offices, a main office in London and two branch offices: one in Paris (opened 2002) and one in Tokyo (opened 2007). Services offered by Jasper Morrison Ltd. are wide ranging, from furniture to tableware and kitchen products, to lighting, electronics and appliance design, designs for public space and more recently watches, clocks & shoes.
He has clients across the globe, all leaders in their individual fields. They include: Magis, Alessi, Camper, Cappellini, Flos, Rado Watch, Rosenthal, Rowenta, Samsung Electronics, Sony Design, Vitra, etc.

ザンパは、緩やかにカーブする脚が特徴の、軽量で上品なスツールです。
ザンパの丸く平らな座面は技術の成果で、単純な構造によりある程度の柔軟性が生まれることで、座り心地が驚くほどに柔らかいものとなっています。
「ザンパのスツールをデザインしている時には、私はこのシリーズに椅子を加えることになるとは想像もしていませんでした。椅子が存在することは完全に自然なことに思えますし、人によってはスツールに若干ミニマルな印象を持つものなので、椅子の存在によって特別な特徴を与えることができると思います。」
ZAMPA is a light, graceful stool with gently curving legs.
Its round, flat seat is a technical achievement in that it is simply structured to provide some flex and therefore a surprising softness in how it sits.
“While designing the Zampa stools I never imagined we would add a chair to the family. If Mattiazzi had asked me to design a chair first I very much doubt it would be as good as this one. Seen as a family it looks perfectly natural that there’s a chair, and I think the chair brings a lot of extra character to the stools which on their own might have seemed a bit minimal to some.”
